Many people argue that homeschooling is a proper option. This is not true because children that are homeschooled are at a disadvantage because of their lack of many experiences outside of the home. Many don’t get exposure to people of other cultures and religions. People may argue that religion is not taught at public schools though. This does not mean that kids shouldn’t be able to meet and interact with children of different backgrounds. “Interaction with other pupils is a crucial element of a child’s development, and mere social interaction isn’t good enough - team building, working towards goals, being forced to confront problems with and live alongside individuals one might not like, or come from different backgrounds, is clearly done best in a school environment.” (Deane) Although some parents may turn out to be good home school teachers to their children. Parents influence their teaching approach in accordance to their child’s learning style. Parents get more input in what their child will learn. This allows the child to understand the subject being taught. ("Pros and Cons of Home Schooling" par. 4) This statement is understandable, but not necessarily true. “Some parents are not cutout to home school their children. You must be honest with yourself and your spouse and decide whether or not you are willing to devote the time and energy to the task. It may be best for some children to stay in the public school and the parent [to] become more active in the parent teacher organizations.” ("Cons of Home Schooling" par. 5) Another argument is children will be more comfortable and focused in their own home, but how can one go from “learning mode” to “play mode” in the same environment with the same people? (Deane)
